About our School

The Montessori School of Schenectady is a non-denominational, nonprofit, educational corporation, founded in 1968 by parents who wanted the Montessori educational approach for their children.  The school's objective is to give each child the tools necessary to reach their highest potential.

Enrollments are accepted without regard to race, religion, or national origin.

About our Program

Our day starts with a free work time where children work independently along with the direction of the teachers.  We then have circle time.  At this time we share items the children bring to school relating to the theme of the day and we work on our enrichment programs.  We also sing and have a story time each day.  Although the weather does not always cooperate, we try to go out to play every day.  We also take a number of field trips throughout the year that are interesting as well as educational.
